Review: Facefront Artistic Pigment Swatches

Hello my beautiful readers, hope you are having a stylish awesome weekend. Today I will to talk about my latest craze, FaceFront cosmetics. As right now I'm in love with this brand, they have so many pretty swatches and one of the best eyeshadow bases I've ever used. First let me tell you about the brand, their products are vegan (that means they don't test on animals, nor use things that come from animals), minerals, and eco friendly.

Why I love these pigments?

They have the prettiest swatches, they are really pigmented, you can use them wet or dry, and they come in a variety of finishes; from matte to steel finish. I currently own: Bee Incredible, Death By Rubies, Symphonic, Sea Soldier, Black Jax (cream liner and eyeshadow), and Weekend Warrior.

These make up pigments sell for 10.50 USD each at www.facefront.com.  The pigments have 5g and the cream liner/shadow has 2.3g, this brand also makes lipgloss, blush, finishing powder, bronzer and a brow/eye base called Survival Paint.

Review: Purple Lab Fat Lips Skinny Hips

Hey gals, since I saw Purple Lab's Fat Lips Skinny Hips (info here) I wanted to try it, but for a lip gloss it seemed quite expensive, two weeks ago I went on hsn.com to see another beauty product offer, but I didn't consider it. I stumbled upon a very good deal (2 for $7 while the MSRP is 25.00) so I bought them. This lip plumper hoodia, what can calm your food cravings.

The package is super cute, in purple and pink. The inside of the box is really weird, it has like a smaller box space where the lip gloss goes, It's a waste of space. Another weird (but creative) thing about this brand is the  names of their products.

The one's that I got are called No Panty Lines (clear) and Kitty Pole dance (old pink with sparkles).


After testing this product I am really disappointed, I should've read more about it. The pink one has no pigmentation what so ever, it goes on clear and it smells pretty weird, I guess it is because of the Hoodia. What I liked was, that after 10 minutes you can see the difference in your lips, it makes them look fuller (not injected) and it's not sticky. It also carves your cravings but not for long... Make sure to have a back up plan. =)

Review: Hight Voltage Eye Primer

Yesterday I went to the mall because I needed a new eyeshadow primer. I've been reading about how amazing the new High Voltage eye primer and I also wanted to get a new Sephora by O.P.I nail polish (I'm obsessed with them -will show my collection later-) So I went in I asked one of the girls where the Kat Von D isle was (they moved it from where I was used to going) So I went there and got it in the Skin shade for $15 (a difference of $3 from the UDEP and the Two Faced Eyeshadow insurance).

In the past I've used Urban Decay Eye Potion, it did the job and it didn't crease, but after a couple of used the primer started thickening and at one point it was impossible to put it on, it also dried way to fast and it left patches on my eyes that later one when I applied make up would be a lighter shade. Now with the HVEP is different, though the primer is a bit thick if you blend it fast it won't leave patches. Not to mention that I wore make up for 12 hours and it never faded or creased, not even when I was working out. And the colors came out really pretty.

Pros: It won't fade or crease your make up, it's cheaper than the leading primers. It makes make up last a long time. You just need a dab to cover the whole eye. It's matte so it is very good to work on

Cons: the color won't match a lot of skin tones and it's kind of yellowish when it dries. If you don't blend it fast enough it will dry and become a bit sticky and you won't be able to mold it.

I consider this the best eye primer I've gotten up to date, it delivers for my needs which are kind of high because of the level of humidity in the Caribbean. But I can't judge for everyone out there. Please make sure to test it out in the store just in case you don't like the texture or how it covers the flaws in your eyes.

Review: Clean & Clear products

I've been suffering from acne as long as I can remember -it's hereditary- and I have struggled so much to keep my skin clear that I think it is almost imposible to do it. I've used every drugstore product you can find; I've gone to the dermatologist but nothing -I was affraid of buying Proactive because some say if you stop the usage your skin will break out worse than before-.

When I first spotted the Clean and Clear Advanced it was almost as expensive as buying Proactive, but then after a while I was able to spot it at Wal-Mart for only 20 dollars -3 piece set which included the wash (that its main ingredient is Benzoil Perozide that is a potent acne fighter), then there is the moisterizer and the spot treatment- The price was tempting so I decided to give it a try. I was surprised when my skin started to clear out and I had no bumps or redness in my skin. I was so stunned I couln't stop taking pictures and not wearing any makeup at all. I highly recomend this product to anyone that is looking for an acne solution. It really works wonders and the spot treatment is the best because it is a clear solution that you apply to the affected area and boom! the next day or a couple of hours later the zit is gone!


Pros- It works fast, its very inexpensive, you can find it in any drugstore or deparment store. It works very good with normal-oily and oily skin, because you won't feel like it's drying out.

Cons- every time I used the face wash it ultimetely would get my clothing stained =( I don't recomend it to people that have a normal-dry or dry skin, because it would dry it out more, I found that if I used the moisterizer every day it can make it more oily than it normaly is, so use it only when you feel like the skin is drying out

Review: Wet n' Wild

Well I went to Wallgreens today and there was an offer buy one and get another one free. So I wanted a hot pink lipstick really bad. So I went almost running thru the makeup section and the only brand I found with a hot pink lipstick was Wet n' Wild. When I saw the price I was amazed it was less than $2.50 so I decided to buy it, because I had to pick a free item I got a hot pink Wild Shine nail color in 454D which is Lavender Creme -which doesn't look anything like lavender- for free. So I had some money left -my mom gave me $5 and I had some change- I got a cream eyeliner in black and another Wild shine nail color, this time in 449c French White.

I have to say the results I had with these items I purchased for $5.54 where amazing. The hot pink lipstick is really shinny but not sticky, it looks amazing, it blends well with the color of your lips and is really creamy. The eyeliner was very easy to apply it doesn't mess up and the outcome is awesome -it comes with the angle brush- the same I have to say about the nail color it looks really bright, it dries fast, and with one application the color covers perfectly I would highly recommend you to buy this product at any department/drugstore you can find. Because it's cheap and it gets the job done. I have to say that is good value for the price

Review: Manly 120 color Palette

Ok. This is a review on the 120 color Palette from Manly Professional makeup.

I'm going to be reviewing this amazing eyeshadow palette that I saw a review one day in youtube (the vid was by MissChievous) and when I saw how many different colors it had I fell in love with it -I also fell in love with the price- You can find this palette on ebay for as low as 17.99 from international sellers -including shipping- and 27.99 for US Sellers.

This Palette has amazing swatches and vary from, matte to very shimmery. And it has a whole set of swatches for the everyday look, to wedding make up, nightclubbing and overall looks. I swear when you see the palette you get very creative with the makeup you even match colors that you didn't even know that matched. The bad news is that is kind of messy some times and some of the eyeshadows are so loose that you have to be very careful with them -you can't even stick your finger accidentally because it will ruin it- WARNING you have to be extra careful and do not let it fall under any circumstances because some of them may actually break and you really don't want that to happen.

Pros: Really good variety of swatches, really pigmented, inexpensive, and the packaging is awesome looking.


Cons: Really fragile, to shimmery, and some are really loose and messy


Tip to a better use of this palette: Use an eyeshadow primer like: Urban Decay this one goes for $17 USD at Sephora, the Eyeshadow Insurance by Two Faced that goes for $17 USD as well and the one that I might get because I'm a minerals freak is FaceFront Survival Paint @ facefront which goes for $11 and I've read the reviews and they say it's way better than Urban Decay.

Update (February 12, 2012): After a while of using this palette I realized that I didn't need so many colors, because I found myself using the same colors over and over again. I was also getting really bad allergic reactions on my eyes, then another day I dropped while I was cleaning and most of the colors broke.
